Transport Ministry talks to buy Mercedes cabs

Azerbaijan's Transport Ministry is negotiating with DaimlerChrysler to buy Mercedes Benz taxis for domestic use.

Ministry official Sadraddin Mammadov told APA that the ministry is also in talks with Daewoo to buy city buses. He said 200 buses will be imported at the first phase.

Transport Ministry will hold training courses for cabmen. "Most taxi-drivers don't know streets well. Special action plan is being developed to take measures," he added.
