Azerbaijan suspends import of poultry from two Russian regions

Azerbaijan's state veterinary service has imposed temporary restrictions on the import of poultry products from Russia's Moscow Region.

The measure follows detection of the H5N1 bird flu virus there, the veterinary service told Itar-Tass.

Early this month Azerbaijan stopped importing poultry products from Russia's southern Krasnodar Territory after the same virus was found there.

The restrictions will be lifted as soon as the risk of bird flu has been eliminated, Azerbaijan's veterinary service said.
