Culture Minister believes in success of Azerbaijani Cinematographers Union

Azerbaijani Culture and Tourism Minister Abulfas Garayev expressed confidence that the activities of the newly created Union of Cinematographers of Azerbaijan Republic will be successful.

"In Azerbaijan, creative people can unite in different ways and set new goals. If they decide to accelerate the creative process, there is nothing wrong with that. I think that the work of the Union of Cinematographers of Azerbaijan Republic will be fruitful. I wish them luck," the minister told reporters on Thursday.

At the same time he stressed that no one is going to stop activities of the existing old Union of Cinematographers, and no restrictions are put against it.

"However, the ongoing processes show that today Azerbaijani filmmakers are showing more interest in contemporary cinema, innovation and development. So I think that the activities of the new Union will be successful," Garayev said.

He also stressed the readiness of the Ministry to provide necessary support to the new Union.
