An exhibition by charwoman of the Artists Union of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Ulviyya Hamzayeva has opened at the French Embassy in Baku. The opening ceremony was attended by culture and art figures, peoples` artists and journalists.
Opening the event, French ambassador Pascal Meunier praised works by Hamzayeva.
He also highlighted the relations between Azerbaijan and France. Hamzayeva thanked the French Embassy for the organization of the exhibition.
She praised the Azerbaijani government`s care and attention to developing all spheres of life in the country, particularly culture and art.
Ulviyya Hamzayeva was born in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic of Azerbaijan in 1982. Ulviyya has been teaching art and art history in Nakhchivan State University since 2005. She was awarded with the title “Honoured Artist of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic” in 2008. In 2009 she was awarded with the title “Honoured Artist of Azerbaijan Republic” by the President of Azerbaijan. Ulviyya Hamzayeva was elected as Chairperson of “Artists Union of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic” in February 2011. She is also a member of Nakhchivan`s parliament.
Her works are kept in local museums, private and public collections.
