South Africa hosts concert dedicated to Azerbaijan

 A concert dedicated to the 20th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between Azerbaijan and South Africa and the 870th anniversary of great Azeri poet Nizami Ganjavi was held at the Pretoria University.

The event, called “Land of Fire in Africa”, was co-organized by Azerbaijan`s Embassy in South African Republic and Friends of Azerbaijan NGO (FOA). It was attended by teachers and students of Pretoria University, as well as representatives of the Azerbaijani community, and members of the general public.

Chairman of FOA Jamil Mammadalizade noted the concert aimed to increase the South African society`s awareness of Azerbaijan`s culture.

The event featured demonstration of pieces by “Korogly” opera, as well as “The legend of love”, “Esmiralda” “Seven Beauties” ballets and jazz compositions.
