Ganja State Philharmonic Hall has hosted a solo concert by the laureate of international competitions, Honoured Artist Emil Afrasiyab.
The concert "Jazz Evening" was dedicated to the 84th anniversary of Vagif Mustafazade (1940-1979), outstanding pianist and founder of the musical direction of the jazz-mugham genre, Azernews reports.
Among the guests were representatives of state and public structures, cultural and scientific figures, creative youth, families of martyrs and veterans of the Garabagh War.
Director of the Ganja State Philharmonic, Honored Artist Ramil Gasimov spoke about Vagif Mustafazade's life and work, who left an unsurpassed spiritual legacy for his contemporaries and future generations, who won the hearts of millions of listeners with his originality, virtuoso technique, and unique playing.
Rector of the Azerbaijan National Conservatory, holder of the Shohrat and Sharaf orders, People's Artist Siyavush Karimi noted the great contribution of Emil Afrasiyab to modern jazz art.
At the concert, Emil Afrasiyab performed Vagif Mustafazade's compositions as well as his own improvisations.
People's Artist Anvar Sadigov and his Qaytagi instrumental ensemble, Honored Artist Abbas Baghirov also took part in the concert program, theatrical performances were presented. The performances of the artists were accompanied by applause from the audience.
