Dog-lovers could soon get their hands on a new robotic pup, which lets you control it with an iPhone.
While the popular Sony AIBO was discontinued all the way back in 2006, it seems there's a new robot dog on the market vying for our affections.
Takar Tomy's new Omnibot i-Sodog is once again hoping to test the robotic pet market with its latest creation.
Making its official debut this week at the Tokyo International Toy Show, initial details about the new robo-pup are thin on the ground, however reports claim that it has a new feature not seen before on such products.
The robot dog has a dedicated remote control module, as well as a function which allows users to control it from their iPhone or other smartphone device. This means that a few text commands could see the pup following simple tasks, such as rolling over, sitting and offering its paw, much like a real canine.
As well as 'listening' to smartphone devices, sources indicate that the i-Sodog will also respond to its owner's voice commands and hand gestures. While pricing has yet to be revealed, the Omnibot i-Sodog will hit stores sometime in early 2013.
