Everyone once in life encountered such a problem as an autumn melancholy. It comes at a time when not only nature and surrounding landscapes are changing, but also the mood.
There can be several reasons for the melancholy, but all of them lead to disruption of the processes occurring in the body, causing apathy, irritability, absent-mindedness, loss of strength and even sleep problems.
In autumn the number of sunny days is significantly reduced, they are replaced by cloudy and rainy weekdays. The thing is that the sun has a significant effect on our bodies. Sunlight is the best natural antidepressant, which relieves melancholy and gives a sense of happiness.
This is due to the fact that ultraviolet radiation from the sun releases endorphins - "feel-good" hormones.
What to do and how to live, so that there is no desire to climb under the blanket, to disconnect the mobile and not to see anyone?
Below are several suggestions how to avoid seasonal depression:
Let there be light. Walk more in the street when it's light when there is sun. At home, too, try to be less in the twilight, especially in the morning - this is important. As soon as you wake up open the curtains, turn on the daylight bright lamps.
Kill Stress. Not everyone has a seasonal depression. As a rule, people who have a genetic predisposition are inclined to it. It's about the problem of producing neurotransmitters - substances in the brain that are responsible for our emotions.
One of the main reasons of depression is stress. Each person has four spheres of life - health, money, interpersonal relations and social sphere. If there are problems in one of the spheres, it can become a catalyst, the last straw.
A person should find the cause of stress and do everything to eliminate it.
Do sports. Sport is a great way to cope with depression. But only if you often go to the gym and keep in shape.
Make a schedule. To keep yourself in hand, you need to build a clear life schedule. At what time you go to work, come back, when you eat, rest, go to bed. The rhythm of life will allow you not to become limp.
Travel. If you managed to grab a vacation in a rainy season, go on a trip. Even if no one will make you a company, this is an excellent occasion to make new acquaintances.
Be kind to yourself. This one can be hard, especially if you are one of the many who has very high expectations of yourself. But, the truth is that most people feel the ripple of change and so it makes sense that you may begin to feel a bit un-moored at this time. When you beat yourself up for feeling out of sorts, it adds a whole new level of distress.
Add color to your home. This is kind of a materialistic one, but this may be a great time to add color and brightness. Those of us who live in the land of seasons get a burst of color and then all of the color in our environment seems to disappear. Re-charging your environment may help to keep your spirits up.
Every person, whether man or woman, knows what can make him/her happy in any day of the week or time of the day.
Work on yourself, grow professionally, do something new, improve your emotional level and the result is a life without depression.
