"The Snake-man": I can name more than 15 cities of Azerbaijan – PHOTOS

18 December 2010 [12:52] - TODAY.AZ
Mukhtar Huseynhajiyev is the most flexible person in the world who performs impossible things with his body. He is often called "Guddini" or "the snake man." He easily poses as a grasshopper by turning laps in the opposite direction and lies in such a state in a box measuring just 60 by 60 centimeters, he can move ribs and shoulders, throw a leg over his head, tying his body in a knot so that the viewer does not understand where the hands and feet are and can even easily take his shoulder of the joint capsule.

Mukhtar has coached world stars such as Demi Moore, Pamela Anderson and many others. The most flexible person spends most of his time either in Moscow or in Hollywood. He told about his unusual talent and much more in an interview.

When did you find about such unusual properties of your body?

Back in 1997, at a meeting of the Priorov Central Institute of Traumatology and Orthopedics, I proved that there is no any deviation from the norm and also I have no dislocation of the shoulder joint. So, if you work on your body, you can sculpt out of it what you want. My body does not have any unusual properties. It is about doing what I plan or what I want. As the saying goes, "try to get what you love, otherwise you'll have to love what you have got."

How did you start dealing with a "plastic body?” Did you learn from someone else or you developed your incredible flexibility on your own?

I am self-taught in all my present occupations that earn me income. Actually, I do everything with such pleasure and so heartily that it becomes a profession. I have received no education after eighth grade. Though I have not studied musical alphabet, I can play piano, guitar and sing. I try to show that without a diploma you can travel around the world, speak six languages, have several professions, be independent, secured, popular and healthy. Having all this together, it is impossible to be unhappy.

You are so mercilessly experimenting with your own body. Does your profession have any effect on your health?

Of course it has. If it had no effect, why would I do that?

Is it true that you can draw and play piano with your toes?

Yes. During seminars, I teach not only flexibility of a body, but also the flexibility of a mind. First and foremost, I should be able to take control of my body myself if am teaching this. In seminars, I do not say anything that I have not experimented and got results. For 13 years, I lived in 1,500 cities of 33 countries. I observed, studied, analyzed, experimented, read, thought, compared, tried, made mistakes, took risks, worked and I began to teach it once I got the result.

How could you make yourself known in Hollywood?

I will soon release a book which will tell how being a homeless child, illiterate son of a shepherd and jailer, who was later jailed himself, went to work in remote Siberia and lived without any hope, I got what I would be embarrassed even to dream about in those years.  I have spent a total of 22 years in seclusion and developed a unique and at the same time the simplest scheme, without which I would found life uninteresting to live. This makes all your dreams come true with such an ease. You cannot do without it once you try it. This scheme is so fascinating that it instantly replaces all previous harmful habits, and engulfs you as a whole. It has neither place nor inclination to succumb to false pleasures. Once you taste that excitement of your own, you cannot even avoid Hollywood. You're just doomed to success.

In Hollywood, you have coached stars. How is it like to communicate with them?

There are no stars among human beings. These are the same people. Just they are often shown on TV. Can this make them different from others? We are all the same people. Not only Hollywood stars, but also our celebrities are also different in communication. For example, recently I called a very famous actor of the Russian cinema with who I had a role in a film in St. Petersburg. At first, our conversation was very short as I was explaining why I called him. But as soon as I introduced myself, the ice melted and the conversation became easy and sincere. The fact is that you need to become a celebrity to understand why celebrities are so afraid of unnecessary connections and calls. They do not have enough of a lifetime to communicate with everyone who wants it.

As you know, you have been inducted into the Guinness World Records...

It is Guinness World Records that officially invites you with all its honors only after you have been in media spotlight and you have proved to be a man with some unique abilities. Then these abilities are checked, aired on television, recorded by experts.... and you end up in a book.

You also act in films and play in theater. Do roles change you as a person?

The role does not change the actor. It only shows his different faces. I have happened to play characters totally alien to my in twenty-five out of thirty movies. For example, in "Plato" or "Major Vetrov" I am absolutely not the one who I am in my life. My experience helps me. Knowing such people in real life, communicating with them and watching, I act like them for a while, and it turns out to be very easy.

You have already achieved a lot. Do you think you have reached the highest point of your capabilities?

Not at all! I have everything just on the runway. So far, I have only built the plane, assembled items and have rolled out to its final stretch. Most interesting and exciting is still to come.

Surely, you have been in Azerbaijan…

I have been there several times given that I was born in Dagestan, not far from Azerbaijan. There is about hundred kilometers from my town to the border. Naturally, as a curious person since childhood, I studied geography, history, and more about the Caucasus just for myself. For example, I can name more than fifteen cities of Azerbaijan. I know where country’s major cities are located in a map. I can tell the whole story of oil wells in Baku, how settlements were created around them and about life in those times. In 1997, I was just captivated by a very civilized, quiet atmosphere in Baku, when even midnight people rest, girls are walking, children are running around and all lit up around in a seaside park. This is impossible in neighboring Dagestan. I have many Azerbaijani friends. But, I will say more, I have Azerbaijani relatives as well.
