Around 12,000 eggs were reportedly stolen from a chicken farm in Sussex.
Police received a call at 11.30pm on Tuesday when it was discovered that the farm's egg packing warehouse had been broken into.
Three women, aged 17 to 19, and ten men, aged between 16 and 21, were later arrested after their five cars were boxed in by officers, according to the Surrey Mirror.
The suspects had been throwing eggs at passing cars from a bridge before the police caught up with them.
An investigating officer said: "We have a lot of work to do to unravel exactly what happened at the farm.
"I appeal to anyone who has any information regarding this incident to come forward. The victim has spent many years building up their business, and we will work hard to ensure those responsible are brought to justice."
