Some proposals on improvement of situation in prisons

The Ombudsman told journalists that the proposals concern the situation with maintenance of prisoners, increase of the level of services and treatment with the convicted. (Trend)

Suleymanova said that she appealed to the Azerbaijani President with request to announce amnesty. The Ombudsman announced the amnesty covers more than the pardon act. As a result of 36 amnesty and pardon acts 180 prisoners fall on each 100,000 people, while in most countries the figures comprises 580-600, according to Suleymanova.
