USA ambassador in our country visited Gusar

According to the information of the north bureau of APA, the ambassador met with the representatives of the non-governmental organizations in Gusar today. The visit was held without participation of the journalists. Then the diplomat visited the OKI medical center in Gusar. Reno Harnish giving an explanation to the journalists did not call the names of the forces intending to violate the elections: I can not say this because I am the foreign citizen. But I want to inform that the executive heads of some regions want to conduct the elections in an old form”.

The ambassador met with the chairman of the Lezghin “Savab” Society Nizami Sultanov and some members of the society. N.Sultanov informed in his explanation to APA about the closed meeting that they discussed the public-political situation in Gusar with the ambassador. Religious currents and religious situation in the region were also discussed in the meeting. The members of “Savab” asked the ambassador to help restoration of the activity of the Gusar TV on the eve of the elections.

The visit of the president Ilham Aliyev was also discussed in the meeting, the members of “Savab” valued this as respect of Ilham Aliyev to the ethnical minorities in the country. The ambassador specially stressed that the attitude of the government of Azerbaijan to the ethnical minorities is very normal.

R.Harnish finished his Gusar visit by conducting the meeting with the executive head of Gusar region Zohrab Primov at the dinner table. It is expected that the ambassador will visit the frontier-posts and customs stations in the region on the second half of the day.

We should note that R.Harnish is accompanied by his spouse Lesley Harnish, counselor on political questions Pole Narain and counselor on democracy questions lady Stephanie in his visit.
