Elmar Mammedyarov: “Armenia might be involved in great economical projects in the region if it withdraws from the occupied territories”

We shall discuss both the directions of resolution of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict and hold planning about the meeting of Presidents of Azerbaijan and Armenia due to in Kazan”- Head of Azerbaijan MFA Elmar Mammedyarov told the journalists before the meeting with his Armenian counterpart Vardan Oskanyan.

Stressing that the principle of the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan is main factor in the talks, the head of the MFA expressed his readiness to the talks and though he noted that they reached a consensus on some matters, he emphasized the importance of continuing the discussions regarding some directions: “If Armenia is ready to accept all suggestions of Azerbaijan there will be a positive improvement in the talks then”.

The head of MFA stressed that OSCE Minsk Group has intensified its activity recently. E.Mammedyarov particularly noted that the issue concerning the status of Nagorno Karabakh should be discussed in the frame if the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan only: “We think, this problems has different possible variants of solution, the main thing is that, we should find the form to provide Azerbaijanis and Armenians live in a peaceful atmosphere in the small territory. The earlier this form is found, the earlier the obstacles to our development will be removed”.

The most interesting statement made by Elmar Mamedyarov is about the possibility of Armenia’s involving in great economical projects in the region if it withdraws its troops from the occupied territories: “Armenia might be involved in great economical projects in the region if it withdraws from the occupied territories”.
