A total of 2059 candidates will participate in the forthcoming parliamentary elections to be held in Azerbaijan on 6 November 2005.
The spokesman for the Central Elections Commission (CEC), Azer Sariyev informed Trend about it.
He noted that the registration of candidates was complete on Wednesday. In the first round of the elections campaign 2153 people presented signature lists to the district elections commissions. 2062 of them underwent registration, while the appeals by 29 people were rejected. After the presentation of signature lists 62 people willfully refused from nominating their candidacies and later 3 people more took the same step. Finally, the figure was 2059.
Sariyev noted that the figure was not the final. Perhaps, anyone will refuse from the participation in the elections and list would diminish.
