“It is impossible to prolong the time-limit defined in connection with specification of elector’s lists, because this question is balanced with the legislation. That is why CEC does not have this authority”.
This explanation was given to APA by the secretary of the Central Election Commission Natig Mammadov.
That is why the CEC secretary noted that an appeal made by the “Azadlig” bloc on prolongation of the time-limit in connection with specification of elector’s lists is groundless.
N.Mammadov informed that the time-limit was determined in the Election Code, but not in any instruction of CEC as they indicated in their appeal.
“If they consider that this time-limit was adopted with the instruction of CEC, they are wrong. Specification of elector’s lists will finish on September 30. According to the Election Code, specification of names of electors starts 65 days left to the Election Day and ends 35 days left to the Election Day. Names were determined more precisely during this period. Although everything is not completely ideal, most of the problems were fixed”.
