Rasul Guliev: "On Monday I will tell everybody why I was unable to come home"

For the last days Mass Media spread very ambiguous information regarding your place of being. Could you clarify please this question - where are you right now?

-Thank you for your attention. I am right now in London where I flew back from Kiev. 

Could you comment please on accusations of you preparing the coup?

-Government tries to discredit me in the eyes of the society, strike down Azadlig block and gain among people image of ones willing to proceed with reforms. Besides it is very convenient to hide the coup curtain a fact of degradation among ruling elite which lead to the fight of clans for power inside of it.

Is there a possibility that opposition will enlarge in numbers accepting followers of arrested ministers?

- It is hard for me to answer this question. Although government states that a coup is possible to implement while being absent the country for a long time, I have to admit that in order to answer this question one must to know precisely thoughts spread in Azerbaijan. However I do not exclude that situation may develop in a way as you described it.
 

- When can we expect your return to Azerbaijan?

- I will surely come back to Azerbaijan. But this information same as the information on why I was not able to return to my homeland on October 17 I will disclose at an international press conference which I will host on Monday at one o’clock Baku time.
