02 November 2005 [14:11] - TODAY.AZ
The former minister of economic development Farhad Aliyev being kept in the Investigational Jail of the Ministry of Economic Development (MED) was questioned again today.

The former minister refused to testify once more. APA was informed about it by the lawyer of the ex-minister Ramiz Mammadov. The lawyer informed that a person attracted to the investigation as an accused has the right to testify or keep silence: "Farhad Aliyev uses his right to keep silence. No one can force him to speak. He considers that there is no need to testify because the truth he will speak will not change the result. We systematically take part in the investigational actions".

The lawyer said that the health condition of the former minister is normal and he does not complain of the detention conditions. It should be noted that a 3 month arrest measure was chosen on F.Aliyev. The former minister was accused of abusing official post, preparation to mass disturbances, seizing the power by force, misappropriation of large amount of state property. F.Aliyev does not want to testify because he does not agree to any of the accusations.
