Asim Mollazade: “Russel Johnston’s account reads that UN resolutions needs implementing”

The day before yesterday annual account of chairman of the organization Lord Russell Johnston was adopted at the Sub-Committee of Council of Europe on Nagorno Karabakh in Paris.

The document will be reflected on the report of the president of the organization Rene van der Linden to be made at the winter session of Parliamentary Assembly of Council of Europe (PACE) on January 23.

Member of Sub-committee MP Asim Mollazade told APA that the account satisfies Azerbaijan: “The document reads that resolutions UNO Security Council adopted heeds implementing. Armenians made attempts to strike the recommendation on use of self-determination experience off the account”.

Asim Mollazade said that Venice commission has a document on inviolability of border wholeness and people’s self-determination of their entity. By the said document, people can solve their self-determination by peaceful and mutual co-ordinated means: “Such as in Czech Republic and Slovakia. I addressing the meeting said that the rights of minority Armenians who will be given autonomy status should be protected equally to the rights of Azerbaijanis living there”.

According to the words of A.Mollazade, visit to the region and extension of the authority of the organization were also decided at the meeting of Sub-Committee. “Sub-Committee does not want to replace OSCE Minsk Group, wants to be engaged in the issues figure in values of Council of Europe”.

A.Mollazade also added that next meeting of the Sub-Committee will be held in Paris on March 15: “A meeting of Sub-Committee working group, one person from Azerbaijan and Armenia each will be held in the winter session of PACE”.
