The head of the World Union of Azerbaijani Political Migrants (WUAPM) in the Netherlands, Eldaniz Yusibov told that after checking of his documents Elman Mustafazadeh was said to have illegally migrated to the Netherlands.
"In fact, this claim is groundless. Mr.Elman has been living in the place for refugees in the Netherlands for more than 6 years," Mr.Yusibov said.
"Only persons, who have applied to the Dutch government for political asylum, are allowed to live there. Elman Mustafazadeh was allowed to live there 6 years ago, and his documents were proved to be in order that time. Like other refugees, Elman Mustafazadeh received aids granted to him by the state every week. So, claiming that he is illegally living in the Netherlands is groundless," he added.
Mr. Yusibov said that Mustafazadeh's appeals to the Dutch government for political asylum are now being investigated by the courts. He stressed that the arrest of Mustafazadeh on the pretext that he's illegally living in the Netherlands, contradicts international laws. His trial will be held on February 28. "Probably, all the issues will be clear in the trial," he said.
Mr.Yusibov noted that if the court decision was against Mustafazadeh he would be extradited to Poland or Azerbaijan of which he has citizenship.
The WUAPM has already applied to various instances protesting to Mustafazadeh's arrest. Elman Mustafazadeh has been publicizing the truths about Azerbaijan in European community since 1990.
He was the editor-in-chief of the magazine "Khudaferin" that was published in Poland. The magazine covered all misfortunes of Azerbaijan. Mr. Mustafazadeh took an active part in the demonstrations in the Netherlands protesting to Armenian aggressive policy against Azerbaijan, APA informs.
