As Trend reports citing Tadahiro Abe, the Japanese Ambassador to Azerbaijan, the visit is paid on the invitation of Japanese government.
The Azerbaijani President is scheduled to meet with Emperor of Japan Akihito, as well as Prime Minister Junichiro Koidzumi and the Foreign Minister, Taro Aso. The sides intend to discuss issues of bilateral character, international situation, implementation of economic projects, and the resolution of Nagorno Karabakh conflict.
The visit will come as the second official visit of the Azerbaijani President to Japan following the first paid by President Heydar Aliyev in 1998.
The Japanese government hopes that the visit will give impetus to the development of bilateral relations. During the visit it is planned to sign several documents on bilateral cooperation, concerning the economic and political fields, in particular, agreement on technical assistance to the Japanese government of Azerbaijan.
