European Parliament's dual policy underway: first Azerbaijan then Turkiye

20 July 2023 [13:00] - TODAY.AZ

The European Parliament continues its anti-Azerbaijani and anti-Turkish activities. Earlier, EP, which targeted Azerbaijan, was not satisfied with this and started to increase its pressure on Turkiye. After accusations against Azerbaijan over the false claim of corruption, the European Parliament this time called on Turkiye to recognize the so-called Armenian Genocide. It seems that the European Parliament has increased the dose of the bribe it received from the Armenian lobby; otherwise, the biased parliament could not have made ambitious speeches against the two sides at once...

The European Parliament, which is oblivious to all the processes, and the decisions it takes, is supposedly taking the initiative to normalize relations between Turkiye and Armenia. The Committee also called for the speedy implementation of the agreements of the Special Representatives, such as the opening of airspace and the border between the two countries.

However, a group of members of the parliament who do not have a political mindset, instead of solving the issue, lead to the flare-up of conflicts.

Despite all these "efforts" of Armenia and the pro-Armenian forces, Turkiye has always stated that, without a peaceful agreement between Azerbaijan and Armenia, there can be no talk of any opening of borders.

Perhaps the presence of Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan at the inauguration ceremony of Turkish President Erdogan has appetized Armenia to take such a step.

"The European Parliament does not have such authority to pressure on Turkiye in order to make such a serious ambitious decision. Of course, Turkiye will not react to this in any way. Everything will remain as it is. But we shouldn't forget that majority of the European countries recognize the so-called Armenian genocide."

This was told by Turkish political analyst Engin Ozer while commenting on the issue for AZERNEWS.

According to him, Armenia is very interested in opening communication lines with Turkiye, and even Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan is extremely keen on this.

"As for the peace treaty with Azerbaijan, we are closer to that. Pashinyan is looking for a way out of this situation. He is really trying to get his country out of the political blockade. Pashinyan wants Turkiye to open its borders with Armenia, so that Armenia trades freely with Europe," the expert said.

According to the Turkish political analyst, if we consider the situation in Armenia, we can clearly see that all fabricated information about the genocide is a myth.A large financial flow for this formation comes from the the USA, France, Lebanon, where the large groups of Armenian diasporas are located. "I think that there is no need to unite diasporas located in different countries with Armenia under the heading of genocide. The Western world pays much attention to such a myth. They are trying to attract the interests of the Western world by spreading this thesis to the world. But the question arises - are they all relevant?"

At the end of his comment, the expert emphasized that Armenia should take steps to normalize relations with Azerbaijan and Turkiye in order to open the borders and remove bans on all lines of communication. According to him, only then we can witness any positive changes. I must also add that neither side is interested in normalization of the processes. In a nutshell, nothing will change until Armenia takes action.
