Peter Semneby: "The EU's main activity to divert the conflict regulation process to right direction"

23 March 2006 [08:43] - TODAY.AZ
"The European Union has a wish to take an active part in the conflict settlement in the South Caucasus," EU Special Envoy for the South Caucasus Peter Semneby stated in Georgia.

As APA reports, he underscored that it's still premature to touch upon EU's joining the Compound Control Commission for the Georgian-Osetian conflict settlement.

"Our main activity will be to divert the regulation process to right direction. The endeavors the Georgian government exerts on settling the conflict are vital. The Georgian government should act purposefully but cautiously and without haste to avoid any kind of re-activation of the conflict".
