Macron tries to get into another global conflict

05 June 2024 [19:39] - TODAY.AZ
Emmanuel Macron is going out of his way to restore France's status as a world power, and to show himself as a European leader of particularly large sizes. Having a lot of his own and sometimes unsolvable problems, he continues to meddle in other people's affairs. Unable to solve his own problems, the French president is trying to squeeze into the global agenda and add his five kopecks, or rather, centimes, to it.

Everyone knows how Macron's intervention turned everything around in the peace process between Azerbaijan and Armenia. This incompetent, but considering himself a cunning and skillful politician has put the region on the brink of a new war with his intervention. Fortunately, Azerbaijan managed to knock him out of the process, and we can see how it cleared the atmosphere.

But Macron is having a hard time. He switched to the Russian-Ukrainian conflict, deciding that here he would be able to say a weighty word. Failed. The French president timidly came up with a number of initiatives that both sides ignored. His last hope was the Olympics in Paris, and as president of the host country, he proudly spread his wings and promised to achieve a worldwide truce during the Games. In the conflicting countries, he was looked at with surprise. In Kiev, Macron's idea was called an inanimate story, and in Moscow, the peacekeeper was reminded that France sells weapons to Ukraine.

Macron realized that there was nothing for him here either, and decided to move to ... Gaza. Here, as he apparently believes, it will be easier. But the conflicting parties did not notice the French president's babble at all. It's a shame, of course. This is an opportunity to stake out a place in the pantheon of the saviors of mankind. And on you - he wanted the best, but it turned out the way he always did. That is, nothing.

Today, Emmanuel Macron wants to score at least a prestige goal, somehow proving himself in the Middle East. Saudi Arabia came into his field of vision, which he decided to reconcile with Israel.

Shortly before the October provocation by Hamas that blew up the region, everything was moving towards the fact that the SA recognizes Israel. But a conflict broke out, and the process stopped. Why does Macron think that he will be able to change something? According to media reports, Paris is increasingly interested in becoming part of the new Saudi-Israeli ties that arose as a result of the war with Hamas. It means that Paris hopes to somehow get into these difficult relations and try to reconcile the parties. Here Macron will have to compete with US President Biden, who has set the same task. Having achieved nothing on the Russian-Ukrainian front, Western leaders hope to score points at the expense of the Middle East before the next elections. But Washington and Paris are, as they say, two big differences.

If the White House has certain resources to achieve the goal, the Elysee Palace under the leadership of Emmanuel Macron has zero chances. Wherever the French president pokes his nose, everywhere he only worsens the situation. Or it may be forced to shamefully step aside, as in the case of the South Caucasus. He should not go to the Middle East at all. As a politician, Macron does not have the slightest authority on the world stage. He is not able to solve even the most difficult tasks, so his words and initiatives have no weight. Although, of course, he doesn't think so himself.

Macron is in a position today where he is literally told, as in an old Soviet comedy, "go, go, boy, don't bother." Go deal with the problems of your Olympics. This is the only opportunity for Macron's France to save its prestige. And let the adult uncles deal with world conflicts.
