Russia to participate at High Level in COP29 and Parliamentary Conference in Azerbaijan

Russia will participate at a high level in both COP29 and the parliamentary conference to be held as part of the event.

This statement was made by Russia’s Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Mikhail Yevdokimov, during a meeting with the Speaker of Azerbaijan’s Milli Majlis (Parliament), Sahiba Gafarova, Azernews reports.

The meeting included discussions on preparations for COP29. It was emphasized that attempts to politicize this important international event are unacceptable, and Azerbaijan’s contributions to solving global challenges were highly praised.

During the conversation, biased documents adopted by the European Parliament regarding Azerbaijan and the organization’s anti-Azerbaijan activities were also criticized.

Speaker Sahiba Gafarova stated that these actions by the European Parliament do not align with the spirit of parliamentarism, and Azerbaijan firmly rejects the Parliament’s resolutions that distort realities and are non-objective and one-sided. She highlighted the importance of objective viewpoints and dialogue in relations between parliaments.
