451 Azerbaijani prisoners of war killed in Armenian captivity

As a result of investigation since early 2006, the State Commission’s working group cleared the fate of 102 missing Azerbaijanis, and their names were excluded form the list of the missing.

The list contains 3,662 military men and 894 civilians as missing. 52 of the civilians are children (18 little girls), 394 elderly (180 elder women), 99 middle-aged women and 359 middle-aged men 783 of 4,581 prisoners of war and missing are reported to have been captured and taken hostage, eyewitnesses bore testimony.

1.388 prisoners of war and hostages have been released so far. 342 of them were women and 1,046 men. In general, 169 of the released were children (65 little girls), 288 elderly (112 elder women), 165 middle-aged women and 776 middle-aged men.

The analyze of the materials received by the State Commission shows that 451 Azerbaijani prisoners of war and hostages were murdered and died from different diseases in the captivity.86 of them were women and 365 men. 124 of them have been identified but 69 remain unidentified, APA reports.
