Refugee center to submit report on Armenian atrocities to The Hague

05 July 2006 [08:12] - TODAY.AZ
The Center for the Rights of Refugees has compiled a comprehensive report on the Khojaly massacre perpetrated by Armenians and an electronic version of the document, says its chairperson, well-known Latvian journalist, Tatyana Chaladze.

Hundreds of civilians were brutally killed by the Armenian forces in the Khojaly district on February 26, 1992, which marks one of the bloodiest pages in Azerbaijan's history.

According to AssA-Irada, Chaladze said the 85-volume report covering the damage inflicted to Azerbaijan by the war launched by Armenia, is drawing to a close. After the work is finalized, the findings will be forwarded to the International Tribunal in The Hague and the facts made public. The parliamentarian noted that while preparing the report, she had met with a number of refugees and IDPs.

Chaladze said the Heydar Aliyev Foundation is taking interest in the activities.

"However, the entity has not officially provided us with any assistance. Their involvement has been confined to moral support. We are mostly collaborating with the head of the Association on Assistance to Civil Society Development, Elkhan Suleymanov," the MP added.
