Farhad Aliyev to stop hunger strike

Ex-economic development minister Farhad Aliyev was asked to stop hunger strike by the investigation group dealing with his case.

Farhad Aliyev is being held in the isolated ward of the MNS, his attorney Adil Ismayilov told APA.

He said that hunger strike has not yet affected Farhad’s health. Saying he goes on hunger strike as a protest to investigation process, the right defender added that he will restart hunger strike in future unless there are any improvement in the investigation process.

He said that Farhad will stop hunger strike at 2300 hrs on Friday.

General Public Prosecutor's Office spokesman Vugar Aliyev told APA that investigation group met with Farhad Aliyev and brought it to his notice that hunger strike can be harmful to his health.

"He was told that he can appeal to investigation bodies if he wants to protest to the process."

Vugar Aliyev said that investigation activities are being conducted against Mr. Aliyev.
So, it is not known when the case will be sent to the court.
