Former prosecutor, special police unit leader Mahir Javadov arrested in Germany

Head of the Azerbaijan's Friends Society Elman Mustafazadeh told the APA that Javadov himself informed him about his being detained while he was a guest in Germany.

Mustafazadeh notified Javadov's close relatives in the Netherlands and human rights defender Helen Froberg about that. The detainee's relatives left for Germany. The Society head also contacted Magsud Javadov, Mahir Javadov’s son. At about 17:00, Magsud Javadov said the German Special Police issued arrest on his father for manslaughter and his long having been hided in Austria.

Azerbaijan's Interior Ministry press service told the APA that Interpol had issued international notice on Mahir Javadov. However, the Ministry has no information about it.
