Armenians destroy historical monuments in occupied Azerbaijani region

The fires in the dwelling places across the contact front line have spread to the mountains in the occupied lands.

Deputy governor of Fuzuli region Shakir Hajiyev told that all of the remained historical monuments in the occupied parts of Fuzuli have been devastated by the fires. Hajiyev said he witnessed the arsons in these lands noting these monuments dating to old centuries have been devastated.

According to APA, 15 historical monuments dating to 12th -19th centuries in the occupied Azerbaijani lands have been completely destroyed.

Ancient graveyard dating to the 12th century, Mirali sepulcher dating to the 18th century in Lower Veysali village, a caravanserai (12th century), a mosque, Jalil sepulcher (18th century) in Garghabazar village, a mosque (18th century) and a dwelling place in Gochahmadli village, a mosque and Imamzadeh sepulcher (19th century) in Horadiz village as well as many mosques in Fuzuli city, lower Ayibasanli, Gajar, Boyuk Pirahmadli, Merdinli villages and ancient bridges in Sarajig and Gorazili villages have been destroyed by Armenian occupying forces.

The historical monuments in the liberated villages were damaged when Armenians occupied the entire region in 1993. Some of the territories were liberated from occupation in 1994.

While in Armenian Army's control for three months the buildings and historical constructions in these areas were destructed. There is still no information about the fate of more than ten burial mounds and other dwelling places there.

It is also reported Armenians are introducing the findings they stole from Azerbaijani monuments as if belonging to Armenians.
