Emergencies Minister Heydarov receives US Ambassador

The Ministry public affairs office told the APA Minister Heydarov said bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and the United States reached to the level of strategic partnership. He also stressed that Azerbaijan's President Ilham Aliyev's visit to the United States at the invitation of President George Bush in April this year gave impetus to strengthening of relations highly appreciating the role of US in the implementation of the large-scale projects in Azerbaijan.

Informing the American diplomat about the measures implemented for forming the Ministry of Emergency Situations, which was established in December, 2005 by President Ilham Aliyev's executive order, Minister Heydarov said the attention is brought to applying international experience as well as American experience in forming the structure of the Ministry. He said it is important to manage all measures in centralized rule to immediately address problems in emergency situations.

Ms.Derse said there exists a large cooperation between Azerbaijan and the United States expressing confidence the cooperation will further develop. Familiarizing with the measures implemented for forming the Emergencies Ministry, the ambassador said there is an agency for emergency situations in the US Interior Security Department.

"We can share similar experience to cope with important tasks," Ms. Derse said.
