Georgian Ambassador: "Threatening papers in Marneuli should not be taken serious"

01 September 2006 [09:20] - TODAY.AZ
"Azerbaijanis living in Georgia realized there is no need to worry about the threatening papers distributed in Marneuli region. These are declamations written by unknown persons," Zurab Gumberidze, Georgia’s extraordinary and plenipotentiary Ambassador to Azerbaijan told journalists.

The Ambassador said this does not represent the government’s position. Someone wants to provoke conflict between Azerbaijanis and Georgians.

He also said he does not think the fires in some parts of Georgia were committed intentionally, APA reports.

"The weather is hot and this might cause the fires. Fire broke out in some parts of Georgia, on the border with Turkey and Armenia, also in Tbilisi," the Ambassador said.
