Azerbaijani National Security Ministry and Euro-Atlantic Security Study Group organized the meeting according to the annual plan of GUAM Working Group to fight terrorism, illicit drug traffic and organized crimes.
The Ministry public affairs center told the APA the meeting brought together high ranking officials of law enforcement and intelligence bodies of Ukraine, Azerbaijan, Georgia and Moldova as well as from the Euro-Atlantic Security Study Group and representatives of the US Embassy in Azerbaijan.
The Security Ministry's delegation stressed the importance of getting concrete precautionary information on plans and ambitions of international terrorist organizations and financial sources and exchanging this information among the GUAM relevant bodies. They said GUAM Virtual Center's opportunities should be used more widely to achieve efficient results and enhance cooperation among the GUAM member states.
Azerbaijani representatives informed about the Armenian aggression against the country, uncontrolled territories, existing threats to transport and energy security and preventive measures implemented against these.
Project director of Euro-Atlantic Security Study Group General Alexandr Farkas addressed the meeting. A final protocol was adopted at the end of the meeting.
