Some documents and joint declaration signed between Romania-Azerbaijan

Romania President Traian Basescu pays two-day visit to Azerbaijan today. He met with his Azerbaijani counterpart one-on-one.

Then there was meeting of delegation with the participation of both presidents. They held a media briefing.

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev said that Romania was the first country to recognize Azerbaijan's Independence. The president noted that there is a dialogue between the two countries and within a year and half he met Basescu for four times, APA reports.

Ilham Aliyev said that they had discussions on politics, economic, energy security, the integration to Euro-Atlantic arena and other spheres and there were no divergences of opinions of the two presidents.

Azerbaijani president stressing settlement of Nagorno Garabagh conflict reminded that Azerbaijan's position is unchangeable.

The president said that Romania's position is fair and inspiring. Romania President Traian Basescu noted that he believes Azerbaijan-Romania partnership in Black and Caspian Sea.

"We discussed some projects, especially those on transportation of raw oil," Romania President said.

Basescu said that they are ready to support the integration of Azerbaijan to Euro-Atlantic arena.

He said that their country has good relations with both Azerbaijan and Armenia while speaking about the conflicts in the region. But speaking about the territorial integrity Basescu said that official Bucharest has not changed its position.

At the end of meeting some documents between Azerbaijan and Romania were signed.

It includes an agreement on the corporation between Economic Development Ministries, the protocol about an agreement on cooperation in trade, scientific-technological and cultural spheres, amending protocol on mutual promotion and protection of investment.

The presidents also signed joined declaration.
