President visits Western region

The president was first acquainted with capital reconstruction in Ganja International airport.

"This is the third constructed airport in Azerbaijan. 280 people are employed at the airport," the head Ganja Executive Power Eldar Azizov said.

At the present moment the construction of Zagatala and Lenkeran international airports is going on. The length of flight line in Ganja airport is 3.300 m. New flight lines allow to receive heavy tonnage planes. After the acquaintance with the airport Ilham Aliyev made speech in front the public, APA reports.

"The construction of this airport shows that Azerbaijan becomes the centre of main highway junction. Ganja Airport meets the modern standards and is supplied with modern equipment. We pay special attention to the transport sector. New roads and bridges are built at the moment in different regions of the country. Navigation and air transport is also in the centre of attention. New ships and planes are bought. The roads from Baku to Georgia, Iran and Russia were reconstructed meeting high standards. Today my presidency turns three years. As a president I swore on October 31, 2003. During my presidency I paid special attention to Ganja. I am pleased with the head of Ganja Executive Power, he exactly fulfils my orders," the President said.

Within his visit to Ganja Ilham Aliyev visited Heydar Aliyev memorial complex in the city center and took part in the opening ceremonies of Confectionary plant and new swimming-pool in Ganja Olympic Centre.

Then the President visited Dashkasan. The President took part in the opening ceremony of Ganja-Dashkasan-Khoshbulag road.10 bridges were built on the 47 km road. The road spent 10.2 AZN.

There are 43 settlements on the road. Ilham Aliyev is expected to visit Heydar Aliyev monument in the centre of Dashkasan and specialized institution.
