CEC chief: "There is no ideal election in any country"

PACE co-rapporteurs for Azerbaijan Andres Herkel and Tony Lloyd met with Central Election Commission (CEC) chief Mezahir Panahov informed.

Denis Briborsiya, special representative of CE Secretary General for Azerbaijan and Despina Chatvinasvili, secretary of PACE Monitoring Committee also participated in the meeting.

They were interested in the measures taken by CEC after last year parliamentary elections and November 6 local elections and asked questions about the pooling stations the results of which were abandoned and considering the complaints.

CEC chief said that they reviewed the applications in accordance with the instructions by Venice Commission. Stressing the opportunity offered to the observers of international organizations Panahov said that there is no ideal election in any country of the world.

The chief also noted that they try to minimize the number of irregularities, APA reports.
