CE Human Rights Committee concerned over human rights in Azerbaijan

NGO from CE member states were invited to the assembly. At the end of the assembly the participants adopted a colloquium. The adopted document shows that the condition of human rights is serious in Azerbaijan, like in Russia, Georgia, Slovenia, Greece, Serbia and Turkey. According to the document the human rights defenders became the victim of defamation campaign. The names of Arif Yunus, Leyla Yunus and Eldar Zeynalov are mentioned in the document. Leyla Yunus was threatened with death several times in 2005. Besides, the document shows that the freedom of assembly is also in bad conditions in Azerbaijan APA European bureau reports.
