Serj Sarkisyan: "Nagorno Karabakh in Azerbaijani territory impossible"

Armenia's priority is the recognition Nagorno Karabakh's independence by Azerbaijan, as only this variant ensures non-resumption of hostilities.

"The recognition Nagorno Karabakh independence by Azerbaijan is of great importance. International recognition can be a pressure on Baku," he noted.

Serj Sarkisyan said that Presidents' talks in Minsk were difficult, though they appreciated the results positively.

"The settlement of the conflict will be bitter for each side. We take this factor into account when speaking about the compromise. The conflict would be easily settled if there was any possibility," he added.

He commented on NATO decision on recognition of territorial integrities of South Caucasus countries.

"No country or organization can state that it does not recognize the territorial integrity of other country. We stated more than ones that Armenia recognize the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan. We also recognize Nagorno Karabakh's territorial integrity, because Nagorno Karabakh also decided its self-determination after USSR collapsed," he noted.

Serj Sarkisyan declared that Nagorno Karabakh will never be Azerbaijani territory, APA reports.
