The aim of the visit is to conduct the annual bilateral defense consultations with appropriate Azerbaijani officials, APA reports.
The consultations were useful and productive and helped lay the foundation for further security and military cooperation in the coming year.
In addition, Mr. MacDougall had meetings at the Ministries of Defense and Foreign Affairs to discuss military-to-military relations and security cooperation in Iraq, Afghanistan, Kosovo, and in the global war on terror. The visit will end today.
Mr. MacDougall works in the Office of the Secretary of Defense and has responsibility for overseeing all aspects of bilateral military relations between the United States and Azerbaijan.
