Peter Semneby: "NK status should be solved by negotiations, not by referendum"

"The problem concerning the status of Nagorno Karabakh should be solved by negotiations, not by referendum," Peter Semneby EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus stated.

He said that referendum held by separatists in the occupied Azerbaijani territories does not help the settlement of the conflict.

Peter Semneby said the EU regrets that "referendum" was held at a moment when the talks between the parties intensified.

Finnish Foreign Ministry chairing the European Union, made a statement condemning the referendum held by separatists, APA reports.
