Parliament ratifies new candidates to CEC membership

Akif Gurbanov from Umid Party (Hope), Almaz Gahramanova from Citizens' Solidarity Party and Ogtay Humbatli from Adalat Party (Just) were ratified as candidates to CEC membership.

Only one vacancy remains in CEC after this ratification. This place is considered for Musavat Party. The parliamentarian form Musavat Party Arzu Samadbeyli said that they demand the amendments to Election Code and formation of election commissions on the basis of parity.

"Therefore we have not put up our candidate for CEC membership," he said.

Ali Ahmadov, executive secretary of YAP said that the formation of election commissions from political parties cause serious problems, APA reports.

"Therefore election commissions should be composed of non-party men," he said.
