Mikhail Saakashvili: "Georgia-Azerbaijan border less dangerous"

Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili participated in the opening ceremony of the new offices of Regional Border Protection Departments of Lagodex and Dedopliskaro bordering on Azerbaijan.

Mikhail Saakashvili called Azerbaijan a friend state and said that this part of the border is less dangerous compared with other territories.

"Despite this, the border should be well protected in all directions," he said.

The Chairman of the Border Protection Department, Badri Bitsadze, told journalists that Lagodex Regional Border Protection Department protects 205 km of Georgia-Russia border and 50 km of Georgia-Azerbaijan border.

Dedopliskaro Regional Border Protection Department protects 305 km of Georgia-Azerbaijan border, APA Georgian bureau reports.
