Mentioning that the so-called "Nagorno Karabakh Republic" is recognized neither by Georgia, nor by international community, the organization stated the referendum is of no informative importance for the countries community.
"Georgian politicians, mass media and the whole Georgian people give painful reaction to the participation of the representatives and observers of unfriend states in analogous events in the separatists regions of our country, then why does our television broadcast Nagorno Karabakh referendum? Especially it is sorrowful when all these happen in the territory of Georgia's important strategic partner, the territorial integrity of which is supported by our government and people," he said.
Noting that the visit of the journalists to Nagorno Karabakh took place at the same time with the talks concerning the delivery of Shahdeniz gas supplies to Georgia the authors of the statement said that Azerbaijan demonstrated a friendship gesture towards the Georgia.
"We were shocked by the report broadcasted by the TV channel. The original reasons of Karabakh tragedy and refugees were not mentioned and the legitimacy of the referendum was not cast doubt in the program prepared basing on Soviet journalism," they said.
International Initiative Group Abkhazeti said that the report broadcasted in Rustavi-2 intends to damage the strategic partnership between Azerbaijan and Georgia, they demand this fact to be investigated and to take measures about the organizers and participants of the provocation. The organization calls on the TV channel to apologize to the Azerbaijani people and leadership, APA Georgian bureau reports.
