20 December 2006 [11:01] - TODAY.AZ
The proposals to Basis of military legislation have been amended.

The amendments to the law of Basis of military legislation will be discussed at the meeting of Parliament on Dec 22.

"Amendments to the law have been changed. The proposal to prolong the military service period from a year and a year and a half for graduates was rejected," Milli Majlis security and defense commission member Zahid Oruj told APA.

The proposal to abolish the deferment right of draftees having 3 children was also rejected.

"The draftees having 3 children have the right of deferment," he said. Military service will be one of main terms during getting jobs in state structures as customs, taxes and others.

Zahid Oruj said that the other change is related to the graduates' deferment right.

"Students are to do military service after the bachelor degree. They can continue their study after the military service," he noted. The deferment right of the students intending to get master's degree will be discussed at the session.
