29 January 2007 [12:49] - TODAY.AZ
Eight documents on cooperation in economy, science, culture, tourism and civil defence are to be signed during a beginning three-day visit of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev to France.

Upon results of the summit the presidents of Azerbaijan and France will sign a political declaration, which will outline directions for further development of bilateral relations.

Several contracts are expected to be signed. In particular, the AzAL state concern and the French company ATR will sign a contract, under which AzAL will buy new six ATR-42-500 and ATR-72-500 planes in order to renovate its air fleet. The contract cost is about 97.2 million dollars.

The French Embassy in Baku said the French authorities "attach great significance to Aliyev’s visit over Azerbaijan's growing geopolitical importance and a quick development of the country."
