The train consisting of 35 wagons will bring to Russia 53 pieces of weaponry and some part of property from the Russian base. The train is planned to cross the Georgian-Azerbaijani border on Tuesday afternoon and will continue its way to Russia via Azerbaijan. In 2007, another ten trains will withdraw weaponry and property from the Russian base in Batumi to Russia, and four trains – to the Russian military base in Armenia's Gyumri.
The withdrawal of armaments, weaponry and property of two Russian military bases from Georgia began in 2005. The withdrawal of the Russian base from Batumi is expected to end before October 1, 2008, and another Russian base from Akhalkalaki – before July 1, 2007. Itar-Tass
