FM Mammadyarov for conflict resolution in Islamic world

The Azeri foreign minister, who is also the outgoing chairman of Islamic Conference of Foreign Ministers said Azerbaijan during its tenure participated in humanitarian assistance programmes through OIC and UN frameworks.

Mammadyarov underlined the establishment of the OIC-EU dialogue, which was carried out through these groups.

He reiterated the establishment of the OIC groups in non-OIC capitals and international organizations, which had been an important dimension for the chairmanship.

The Azeri foreign minister said this June, his country was planning to host the OIC international Scientific Conference on the role of tourism in the economies of OIC countries.

He said Azerbaijan would convene a forum in 2008 on literacy in the Islamic world from a global and comprehensive prospective, as well as host the 4th session of Islamic Conference of Ministers of Higher Education and Scientific Research in September 2008. Associated Press of Pakistan
