Ali Hasanov: "If someone does not agree with decisions of courts in Azerbaijan, they can appeal to the European Court"

The due announcement was made by Ali Hasanov,chief of sociopolitical department of Presidential Administration of Azerbaijan told Day.Az.

He noted that the issue of the so-called political prisoners has been on the agenda since Azerbaijan's accession to the Council of Europe.

"Currently the authorities of the country do not consider the problem which is called the problem of political prisoners. We do not perceive it as Azerbaijan has entered the area of the European law and is under jurisdiction of the European Court of Human Rights.

If someone does not agree with decisions of courts in Azerbaijan, they can appeal to the European Court. If any citizen has a right to appeal to the European Court, it means that the issue of the so called political prisoners is a fiction in this country", Hasanov said.
