"Azadlig block is disputing now with Umid Party like once it was with Musavat Party, Azerbaijani Democratic Party and Yeni Musavat newspaper.
Azadlig block’s hysterics should be stopped. They sould understand that they can’t fight all forces in the society", said Igbal Agazadeh, chairman of Umid Party told APA expressing opinion about the recent tensions between his party and Azadlig block. He said Azerbaijan's Popular Front Party and Azerbaijan Liberal Party represented in the Azadlig block branded the parties not to coincide with their positions as "traitors to country".
"They accused those people of acting in favor of Azerbaijan’s enemies. It only remains to condemn the politicians, who don’t support them, in working for Armenia. They can’t claim to build the democratic society with such approaches". Agazadeh said he didn’t know why it occured. He said Azerbaijani opposition had been floundering within this circle for long years and couldn’t stop it.
He called opposition camp to avoid mutual charges. "There were the same charges during presidential elections in 2000, 2003 and 2005. Opposition parties should understand that they cannot achieve success and to achieve success they should be engaged in productive activity", he said. Agazadeh added that everybody should support him during presidential elections because he was one of the best competitors with the Government.
"We will support any oppositional party, if we feel that he is able to compete better than us, as we did in the past. I have worked for the victory of democracy in Azerbaijan by now and supported men who were leading. The people should see my abilities of a leader and support me, if they love Azerbaijan like us," he said.
Hasan Karimov, Deputy Chairman of Azerbaijani People Front Party sounded strict charges to Agazadeh while giving interview to APA. Karimov noted that party leaders controlled by the government have to sound such words during pre-election campaign.
"Igbal Agazadeh, who took mandate from the government and elected as the member of parliament by well-known means, can sound only such words. It is his right. It would better for Agazadeh to be engaged in other job. He has no right to blame opposition," he said. Karimov regarded Agazadeh as a candidate preparing for elections on the opposition background.
