"Everyone should observe law and during elections officials of executive powers must be neutral", said deputy chief of the OSCE Baku office Alexis Shakhtakhtinski in Ganja at a session held for chief of local executive powers and okrug election commissions.
According to him, the main purpose of the international session is to declare inadmissibility of the illegal interference with the election process and note main principles of free and transparent elections.

"Amendments, introduced to the Electoral Code by the Azerbaijani parliament on July 2, have definite restrictions as to interference of executive bodies to the voting process. Under the law, the election process can be held only by means of the Central Election Committee", noted deputy chief of the OSCE Baku office.

During the session Shakhtakhtinski noted that local executive powers should create normal conditions for ensuring right for freedom of assembly. The executive powers should treat equally all candidates and create equal conditions for conduction of meetings of the candidates for president.

According to Day.Az, the event was attended by chiefs of executive powers and heads of constituencies from 26 cities and regions of Azerbaijan.
