Turkish Kapali Carsi to be reconstructed for the first time

Restoration of Istanbul’s Grand Bazaar (Kapali Carsi) will be started in the beginning of 2013, Turkish media reported.

Head of Fatih municipality Mustafa Demir says 3,600 shops, 38 old counters and 66 streets of Grand Bazaar are planned to reconstruct.

98% territory of Bazaar belongs to shop owners. They must pay funds to the project’s budget depending on the area of shop. To him, an idea on capital repair of Grand Bazaar occurred lately. But the incident happened during shooting of the next film about James Bond forced us to hurry.
